Summary: Compurover Review
Comment: This is a very well built backback. The camera equipment goes into the lower third of the pack and folds out to store the equipment in. It is a little awkward to get used to, but once you do it works fine. The space is decent for a Nikon D300 with a 17-55mm lens, a telephoto lens, a flash, and extra batteries, filters, cords, recharger etc. The top third of the pack is open. It is good for storing a book and toiletries, but not much else. You cannot pack a weekend's worth of clothing in it unless you bring less camera equipment. The outside back of the pack can store a tripod very nicely. I have a traveller tripod so it stores fairly small, with the ballhead included. I took the pack on a recent airline flight and it stowed quite nicely in the overhead compartment of a 737.

Summary: Consider the Computrekker or Vertex model instead
Comment: I was truly working for a bag that can keep my 17" Dell and 40D with battery pack, and several lenses during travels. It's my fault that I didnt bring along all my gears when I bought this from a local store.

Negative points:
1) When I place the camera in the middle slot and push the drawer/rover system, the plastic clip in the middle scrathes the LCD screen of my 40D.
2) Contrary to my initial expectation for the "rover" line, it's not easy to pick-up you camera from the bag to shoot a fleeting moment; I bought a Crumpler 6M USD Home just to supplement this purpose.
3) The slot of the 17" laptop is still cramped in the end. Although sufficiently foamed, space is not really slotted for a laptop.
4) 40D with battery pack seems to big already for the compartment.
5) 70-200 lens is already cramped as well.
6) In general, bag is too big to look at but surprisingly cannot accommodate much.

I think the -trekker system (gears placed in vertical array slots) is still better in the end. Consider the Computrekker AW (even not "plus," still can handle 17") or Vertex line if you want one bag for camera + laptop, or just buy a separate bag for laptop and separate for gear--something big like Phototrekker to provide for that 500mm lens that youre eyeing.

Summary: Excellent bag
Comment: I have both the regular Rover bag and the CompuRover. The CompuRover is quite a bit larger, both in the camera compartment and in the top section. Also the side pockets are bigger. The main difference between the bags is that CompuRover obviously has a section for a laptop. I use this bag as my main shooting bag for travel and on location when I have to have all of my equipment with me. Fits a full body camera with 70-300 attached, plus 5 other lenses. Second body and flash in the top compartment. Has a nice cable pouch and card organizer that fits 4 cards. With all my gear the backpack is heavy but very comfortable to carry, thanks to the padded straps and waist belt. The rain cover is great also. However for day trips or when I don't need all of my stuff I use the smaller Rover bag.

Summary: Great product for a good price
Comment: I used to own the Lowepro CompuDaypack and suffer from its lack of lumbar support and chest strap every time I went hiking or just walking in the city with all my gear. This is why I look around and found this other Lowepro product. So far, it really respond to my expectation. It has great support and the back fit nicely letting some air getting in between the bag and my back with is great for hot humid days... And you can attach lens pockets to the belt strap which is great if you don't want to have to remove your bag all the time just to change between them. Also, the computer pocket is very nice with its water resistant zip and my 15 inches MacBookPro (even in its own sleeve) fit perfectly in it without any uncomfortable bump in the back. I am sure you can also fit the 17 inches model. Finally, I tested the All Weather cover that is located under the bag and it resisted a July Florida shower perfectly... I was totally wet but all my gears were fine!

The only mix feeling I have is about its size. It is really bigger than the compuday which is nice if you have a lot of gears, but I would have personally prefer something in between. But, otherwise, it it worth the money (at least Amazon price).

Summary: Lowepro CompuRover AW Backpack
Comment: I bought this bag after looking at the KATA, Tenbo, Tamrac, and Crumpler back packs. I like this bag because it holds my laptop, files(landscape), cords, Zune, DVDs, Canon 350D, 430 EX flash, and 4 lenses without issue. I REALLY like the bag becasue it will fit (fully loaded) under the seat of the CRJ jets. I've had no issues with US airport security. It is a good solid bag and I like it. I'm 6'1" so the fully loaded weight (35 lbs) doesn't bother me, but it might bother some. I plan on taking this bag to Europe in the next few weeks. I would buy it again and recomend it.
