Features: ALR - A new Anti Leg Rotation system, which means the tripod can be opened in less than 15 seconds. Simply loosen all the twist locks on each leg at the same time, then pull the leg down and tighten the locks individually.
G-Lock: The Gitzo leg locking system has been completely redesigned in order to achieve a 20% increase in rigidity, faster operation and stronger, safer locking. G-Lock's special design also provides a "gravity lock" effect: the higher the load applied vertically to the leg, the stronger the lock.
Leg Ends: This is the removable rubber feet provided with the monopod. This feature allows you to easily change worn out rubber feet or to fit other accessories, such as spiked feet or snow/sand shoes.

Comment: This 2540 is a very nice mono pod. Very light and very fast operation. This mono pod works wonderfully in the field! It is very well made! Will do great for most people. I needed a little more stability under my gear. I stepped up to the 5540. This was more stable for me as I use very heavy and large glass.

Comment: It's a Gitzo: so you know it is well built, but honestly to get one of these in your hands is really a sight to behold. It makes me WANT to use a monopod more often. SUPER light, SUPER strong. Excellent. I am using it with a Markins Q3 ballhead. Likely overkill but a great combo... Downside? Price of course, but hey, it's a GITZO.
