Editorial Reviews:
The Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter gives wireless connection capabilities to any wired Ethernet-equipped game console. The Game Adapter can be used in several different ways. If you have an existing home wireless network and a cable or DSL Internet connection, the Game Adapter lets your Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 or 3, or GameCube attach to the network so you can get into online games without running wires to the game room. Or, use a pair of Game Adapters to form a "cable-less cable" between two game consoles for head-to-head gaming - in the same room, or all the way across the house. There's also a special "Wireless LAN Party" mode to connect several consoles at once. It's completely driver-free, so it works on any platform. Since there are no drivers to load, setup is a snap. Just configure the network settings through your PC's web browser, plug it into your game box, and go. The Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter provides lag-free gaming with incredible communication speeds when connected to a Wireless-N Access Point or Router. It can also connect to Wireless-A, -B, or -G devices.Spend your time gaming, not stringing wires, with the Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter.

Summary: Great product, easy setup
Comment: I purchased this item for use with my XBox 360 because it was a little cheaper than the Microsoft wireless adapter and received very good reviews from other customers. Setup was a breeze! I simply plugged it into the XBox and configured it with the system menu. All I had to do was let it look for my network and enter the password. Done deal, it took less than 5 minutes total. If this is what you're buying it for don't bother reading the instructions or using the setup disk, you won't need them.

Summary: Works Well with my Sony Blu-ray disc player
Comment: I recently upgraded to the Sony BDP S-350 Blu-ray player which through a firmware update offers BD-Live capability. Wishing to take advantage of this new capability I wanted to get this unit connected to the internet via my wireless network. Running a cable would have been a serious hassle since my wireless router is in my basement and the Blu-ray player and TV are upstairs in my family room. So after some research I got this Linksys Gaming Adapter.
Initial set-up was a little tricky. While the provided software did recognize my wireless connection, the Sony Blu-ray player would not connect. After exploration, I discovered that my desktop Vista PC ( where my router is connected) was set to "public" rather than "private" for sharing data via my wireless connection. After changing that setting all was fine. It gets a consistant strong connection and the BD-Live feature now works fine. A side note - I am, at this point, underwhelmed by the content currently available via the BD-Live feature but assume it will improve in the future.
If you are in a similar situation, this Linksys Wireless-N Gaming Adapter will do the job.

Summary: Worked Perfectly
Comment: I have 20+ years experience in information technology. I have a Linksys WRT300N wireless N router which is a bit dated. My family gave me an XBOX 360 for Christmas so I needed a wireless connection. The XBOX is in my living room and my router is in an adjacent bedroom.
Since the XBOX 360 comes with the ability to stream high quality Netflix DVD movies I wanted the extra bandwidth of a Wireless N device. I chose the WGA600N. Setup worked the first time. I connected to XBOX Live, chose the Netflix option and was given a code to key into a Netflix web page. I did that and when I got back to the living room I was looking at disk images of all the movies in my instant watching queue.
The Netflix instant viewing quality check gave a maximum rating and the movies start in seconds. I can download game demos in a flash. All from a sleek black box next to my game system.

Summary: Not just for gaming: good for VoIP, Slingbox, Blu-Ray, etc.
Comment: I use the Linksys gaming adapter as a wireless network bridge for devices requiring hardwired connections: Ooma, Slingbox, Blu-Ray player, and, soon, a Sony Bravia television. Because the gaming adapter has only one port, I also purchased an Ethernet switch box (Linksys EZXS55W EtherFast 10/100 5-Port Workgroup Switch) that provides the necessary number of ports for my devices.
When I first installed the adapter, I had a Linksys G router, and the set-up was quick and successful, although we had to connect a laptop with the CD installation set-up to the bridge itself - not cool if you don't have a laptop and want to configure it where it will eventually be. (You can connect it to your computer next to your router and move it to its position later.) Ironically, the real frustration began when later installed a Linksys N router (Linksys WRT160N Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router). Every time the power goes out, we have to reconfigure the gaming adapter. At first, I thought this has more to do with the router and its security than the gaming adapter, but all my other wireless devices connected to the router work perfectly. Because we don't have many power outages, this isn't a major problem for us, but if you live in an area with spotty electrical service, you might want to take this problem into account.
Even though we have mostly G wireless devices in the house, the N speed is noticeably faster/stronger, especially for video streaming. We tossed a SlingLink adapter in favor of this bridge to hook up our SlingBox, and, other than the power problem, the device works great both on the home network and over the internet. Likewise, the Ooma, which shouldn't work away from the cable modem according to the manufacturer, works flawlessly. Since our Wii is wireless, we don't have the adapter hooked up to any game consoles, although the company's literature says that the hardwired consoles (PS3, Xbox, Game Cube, etc.) are plug-and-play. Again, with only one port, users of more than one system will want to expand their Ethernet ports. We considered other manufacturers that had more ports, but we trust the reliability of the Linksys brand. Although adding an Ethernet switch is not expensive, I really wish Linksys had included more ports with this. Serious gamers usually own more than one system, and electronic junkies like me have more than one Ethernet device.
If you are looking for a wireless network bridge, consider this, especially since there currently aren't many wireless-N bridges on the market right now. The "gaming adapter" name is misleading since it can work with a variety of devices, although serious gamers will need, more than others, the N speed that this provides.
Devices that I have successfully hooked up using this adapter and an Ethernet switch:
ooma Core VoIP Phone System with No Monthly Phone Service Bills
Sling Media Slingbox PRO-HD SB300-100
Samsung BD-P1500 1080p Blu-ray Player

Summary: Works perfectly with the PS3
Comment: I bought this because my PlayStation 3 was having trouble staying connected to my wireless network. I have a Linksys WRT54GS router, and the signal strength was never better than 60% or so. I would constantly get error messages, downloads over the PlayStation Network took way too long, and sometimes I couldn't connect at all.
The software that came with this adapter was useless since I have a Mac, but it was easy to log into the admin panel by typing the IP address (192.168.1.250) into my web browser. That'll take you to the admin panel, where you can change all the settings to match your wireless network (it supports WPA and WEP encryption).
Once I had it all set up, I plugged it right into the PS3 and it connected with no problems. I've had zero errors or disconnects so far, and web browsing and downloading are as fast as I'd expect over a broadband connection. (I don't have a wireless-N router, but it hits the max speed for wireless-G.)
If you have the same problems keeping your PS3 connected to a wireless network, I'd highly recommend this.
